Benefits of CBD

What are some potential benefits of CBD? How can you integrate CBD into your routine and how will it make you feel? There are numerous studies that have proven the beneficial nature of CBD. If you ask anyone you know it's very likely they've heard of it if not tried it. However, most people don't really know how it works or the full range of what it can do.

CBD or cannabidiol influences how the body balances itself, especially in response to external stressors. It works with the body's ECS or endocannabinoid system to support what it already does naturally. The body produces its own endocannabinoids, whereas the cannabinoids produced by the cannabis plant are known as phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids like CBD can help support the body's internal system and when taken properly can give it a bit of a boost. 

Potential medicinal properties of CBD include:

  • Antiemetic (helps with nausea and vomiting)
  • Anti-inflammatory (Many types of autoimmune diseases cause inflammation)
  • Antioxidant (natural molecules that help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body- red wine also has antioxidants)
  • Anxiolytic (anti-anxiety)

CBD does not get you high which makes it really versatile for daytime use. All cannabinoids have benefits, including THC, but it's not practical for everyone to be intoxicated all day everyday! It's also very safe- in 2017 the World Health Organization reported that CBD posed no public health risk or potential for abuse. As always, check with your doctor to make sure CBD won't interact with any current medication you're on. There is a chance that it won't play well and it's super important to check before introducing it into your body.
