What is CBD?
CBD = Cannabidiol (pronounced kannah-beh-die-all) is a naturally occurring chemical compound that works with your body's ECS (endocannabinoid system).
CBD is present in both hemp and cannabis plants, but is more predominant in hemp. It is one of over 100 cannabinoids present in the plants. Two others included in our tinctures are CBN and CBG. All of these cannabinoids interact with the ECS in different ways.
Will CBD get me high?
CBD is not intoxicating like its fun cousin THC. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp products legally cannot have more than .3% delta 9 THC on a dry-weight basis. Meaning you will not get high from our CBD products. You can see all of our product deets in our COAs here.
This is a great perk when you want to reap the benefits of CBD but don't want to feel the effects of THC, or in situations where it's not realistic or appropriate to be intoxicated... like at work or driving etc.
How does CBD work in my body?
The body has an ECS or endocannabinoid system that regulates homeostasis (balance). It actually produces its own endogenous cannabinoids (endogenous = growing or originating from within an organism). The cannabinoids in hemp and cannabis are phytocannabinoids (of a plant; relating to plants).
The phytocannabinoids help support the ECS the same way the body functions on it's own. Think of it like a vitamin deficiency- you would take more vitamin D if you didn't have enough of it.
Just like the fruits and veggies you buy at the grocery store, organic is the best choice (and also legally required) when it comes to CBD products. USDA Organic certification means that no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides have been used in the cultivation of hemp. It also ensures that farmers are using tillage and cultivation practices that maintain or improve the condition of the soil and minimize soil erosion.
What ways can I use CBD?
So many ways, folks. Our favorite is the tincture (obvi). A tincture is taken sublingually (under the tongue- absorbed by the mucous membranes). These are easy to take, discreet, and allows full control of dosage because you can adjust it drop by drop if needed. It only takes around 15-30 mins to kick in and lasts for around 4-6 hours. Note- this is all varies greatly depending on the person!
More CBD products:
- Topicals like body butter, creams, gels, roll-ons
- Beauty products like serums and oils

- Flower & Vapes
It's super important to listen to your body and discover the right delivery method for YOU.
What is full spectrum vs. broad spectrum vs. isolate?
Full Spectrum = a plant extract or product that contains ALL of the cannabinoids and other active compounds naturally found in the plant
Broad Spectrum = Like full spectrum but refined to remove any trace of THC
Isolate = An extraction that has been refined to be pure CBD with no other cannabinoids or active compounds (by definition: a thing that has been or become isolated)
These are important to note when shopping for the right product. If you are at all worried about drug testing there is no guarantee that the THC in full spectrum products won't show up on the test (although unlikely). However, full spectrum products may be more beneficial as they offer up more of an entourage effect (the full range of compounds work better together than on their own, THC playing a role in that relationship).
What is a COA?
COA = Certificate of Analysis
COAs provide full transparency on what is in your CBD products. These are mega important for knowing what you're putting into your body, along with taking note on what profiles are working for your body. Not all CBD products are created equal.
Our products include third-party testing, meaning they are independently lab tested for pesticides, heavy metals, microbial content, and residual solvents... all of the gross things you def don't want to put into your body.
You can see all of our product deets in our COAs here.
How Much do I take?
CBD is not a one-size-fits-all product. It's hard to say take x amount because it really depends on an individual's body. ALWAYS consult your doctor before integrating anything else into your body. CBD can interact with pharmaceuticals and it's better to be safe. CBD is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- Start on the low side of your recommended range per body weight. Micro-dosing can be very effective and there's no reason to take more than your body needs. A general rule of thumb is to take 1 to 6 milligrams per 10 pounds of body weight.
- Up your dosage based on how you feel. Stay on the low side for at least a week and go from there, upping it little by little (5 mg every 5-7 days).
- Consistent use is key. It could take months for your body to reach its new balance, give it time.
- 1 full dropper of our "Be Cool" tincture contains 33.4 milligrams of total cannabinoids (CBD & CBG combined)
- 1 full dropper of our "Dream On" tincture contains 30 milligrams of total cannabinoids (CBD & CBN combined)
- We know math is hard and knowing what a full dropper contains is helpful!
Below is a guide to help you get started with our tinctures.
This is just a guide to get your started- as previously mentioned everyone's body will metabolize CBD differently! Each mg listing is on the low end to encourage microdosing.
